Dear TSI Students, Colleagues and Partners,
The year 2023 has been a remarkable chapter in our journey, marked by significant accomplishments, cherished partnerships, and unwavering commitment towards academic excellence and innovation. Reflecting on the milestones achieved during this year, we highlight the progress that has propelled TSI towards greater heights.
The dedication and excellence exhibited by our staff, students and partners were affirmed through high evaluations received in the accreditation of our study programmes, as well as in world and European university rankings. This year we successfully completed the accreditation of ICT direction study programmes and the accreditation of the PhD programme “Digital Economy and Business“. TSI also was very active and skilful participant in the two inter-university projects AutoRADE and DIGITEKA, where the aim was to strengthen the digital capacity of Latvia’s leading higher education institutions by introducing joint shared digitalization initiatives to improve the quality of studies, student engagement, and to adopt the experience of the world’s leading universities and industry. The expansion of an enriching environment for unique guest lectures and practical applications has offered invaluable insights and perspectives to our students, broadening their horizons.
In 2023 TSI also successfully continued our strategic partnership with the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). New applicants started their studies on all three of our double degree programmes with UWE Bristol. The results of the implementation of these programmes were successfully verified and approved by UWE Bristol representatives, and in 2024 we will be delighted to issue diplomas for the successful completion of studies to the first graduates of double degree programmes.
Celebrating a momentous milestone, TSI joyously marked the first anniversary of collaboration with Coursera, being proud and grateful to be the first one in Latvia to collaborate with the global learning platform. Furthermore, the year witnessed the signing of numerous Memorandum of Understanding agreements with our partners across the globe, participating in EU initiatives, cultivating robust relationships that transcend boundaries and foster collaborative initiatives. TSI has not only offered support but has also been generously supported by our collaborators, reflecting the strength of our relationships.
In the spirit of innovation and industry engagement, TSI forged new partnerships with various industry representatives, empowering our community. We welcomed the expansion of our laboratories to a commendable count of 20, serving as a dynamic environment of research, education and innovation. Being active participant and host of the ERASMUS+ mobility programme and other EU initiatives, TSI has continued to play an instrumental role in international collaborations and projects like iDEAHUB, ePiCenter, eMediator and other insightful projects, promoting academic exchange and research cooperation. At TSI, sustainability and innovation remain integral to our image: actively participating in green initiatives, we have continued to implement environmentally conscious practices, contributing towards a sustainable future.
We say goodbye to this eventful year, where TSI has celebrated achievements and pivotal events, and we eagerly look forward to the promising year ahead. The year 2024, the year of TSI’s 25th anniversary, holds the promise of further growth, innovation, and collaboration. TSI is steadfast in its aspiration to continue striving for excellence, nurturing talent, and creating a conducive environment for learning and innovation.
