Current position: Associate Professor of the Transport and Management Faculty, Partner of an audit company that is part of the international network Crowe International.
Experience: More than 30 years of business experience. I have experience as president and chairman of the board of banks in different countries, 15 years of experience in auditing, specializing in the field of restructuring and tax administration. More than 20 years of teaching experience in various universities. I have experience in diplomatic work! For three years 2004-2007, I served as the Secretary of the Embassy of Latvia in Azerbaijan for economic Affairs.
Membership: Member of the Senate of the Institute of Transport and Telecommunications, reviewer of the journal Social Sciences Bulletin (Daugavpils University, Latvia), member of the editorial board of the journal “World Business” (Azerbaijan).
Teaching activity: I was engaged in teaching at three universities in Latvia, at the Banking School at the National Bank of Azerbaijan. I specialize in risk management, international business, tax optimization.
Publication activity: Author/co-author of more than 20 research publications in journals and conference proceedings (indexed in SCOPUS/WoS, ERIH Plus). About a hundred articles on the economic analysis of the development of the economy of Latvia and the Baltic States have been published, the most popular ones are posted on the website http://www.baltic-course.com/rus/
Projects: I participate in international projects on business valuation, business restructuring and anti-money laundering in the audit business.
Supervised theses: Every year I manage the preparation for the defense of 3 to 5 bachelor’s and master’s works.
Research fields/domains: Ways to optimize the financial activities of banks and the development of the FinTech industry. Political and economic aspects of the development of financial institutions.
Awards: The monograph “Fundamentals of Financial Management in the Transition economy on the example of the Baltic States” won the third prize at the competition of works on economics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Latvia.

Projects – In 2009–2012, Dmitry participated as a researcher in the project “Applications of computer science and its links to quantum physics” at the Faculty of Computing, University of Latvia; In 2018-2021 Dmitry is working on his own postdoctoral project “Quantum chemical and molecular dynamics study of advanced solids and nanomaterials: challenging road to reality”. In 2014–2015, Dr. Bocharov was a post-doctoral fellow at the Paul Scherrer Institute (Villigen, Switzerland) in the framework of project “Theoretical modelling of pristine and chromium-doped UO2 Nuclear Fuel”.
Supervised theses – 3 master level and 2 bachelor thesis supervision in Physics and Chemistry with successful defence, Supervision of PhD thesis in a topic “First principles simulations on yttrium and oxygen precipitation inside fcc-Fe lattice”; the official reviewer of 3 PhD thesis.

Rathan Babu Athota (India) has a master’s degree in technology in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology – Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India, (which is under Department of Space ), and he is pursuing PhD in Aerospace Engineering in Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain). He got academic work experience as an assistant professor in Aeronautical Engineering department in Institute of Aeronautical Engineering (Hyderabad, Telangana India).
He has been actively participating in international scientific projects since 2014. He is specialized in computational fluid dynamics, Aerodynamics, Aircraft propulsion, Aircraft performance and Flight dynamics. Regarding his projects – “Trajectory and Aerodynamics of Spacecraft in Combined Aerocapture and Aerobraking” (2015 –2016) deals with the effect of aerodynamic models on the aerocapture and aerobraking maneuvers for an Earth entry mission. Currently his research work is based on the Investigation of natural energy resources through computational techniques and he is the member of EUROPEAN INSTITUTE OF INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY. He has authored scientific publications in the field of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
Dr Harald Kitzmann is a professor of TTK University of Applied Science, Institute of Circular Economy and Technology in Tallinn, Estonia. He got PhD degree in Moscow State Technical University, Bauman University. Along with academic activities, he is a researcher with focus on the development of holistic and sustainable systems for production and regional areas; especially the ecological, technological, social and economic feasibility with considering interests of all stakeholders and targets in circular economic and management of flexibility.
Prof.Kitzmann has a long experience in business sector as consultant and CEO. He is a value driven line and project manager with 30+ years’ experience in strategic and operational transitions, controlling and production management of small and midsize inter-cultural manufacturing companies across a wide range of industries. Internationally recognized specialist for collaborative leadership style with proactive approach, able to work out and implement effective organisation-specific and (non-) traditional solutions in complex systems to solve challenges in volatile external and internal environments; capable of blending big-picture, strategic views with operational daily need considerations to ensure business viability. Member of the Board of Estonian Operational Research Society (EstORS), founder and Member of the Board of Estonian Renewable Energy Association.
