Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI) consistently puts efforts to fulfill own strategic goal of connecting business and research communities. TSI aims at bridging cutting edge research and private sector needs by holding numerous research-to-business (R2B) events. In addition to that our representatives regularly visit key focal point meetings in Latvia and abroad.

European Conference of Transport Research Institutes (ECTRI) Assembly

TSI activities in ECTRI:

  1. the cooperation agreement between famous research institute CDV (Brno, Czech Republic) and TTI.
  2. member of ECTRI and successful in EU projects Greek research institute CERT invited TTI to participate in two EU Framework programme for research and Innovation – HORIZON2020 applications. The following two applications were submitted by 27 January:
  3. SUMMIT (Leader “Terraspatium” and CERT) “Sustaining the adaptability in Multimodal Mobility under expected and unexpected extreme conditions through an Intelligent Big Data system”. H2020 MG 7.1 under the topic: Resilience to extreme (natural and man-made) events.
  4. ASPIRE (Leader – CERT)Port modernization and smart port-city development. H2020 MG 7.3 under the topic: The port of the future.

ENDURANCE Project Meeting “Sustainable Urban Mobility and Transportation Planning”

Venue: TSI, Riga, Latvia

Success story:

  • The seminar was attended by representatives of local authorities from Gulbene, Adazi, Bauska, and Saldus regions, as well as cities of Valmiera, Jelgava, Kuldiga, Liepaja, and Riga, from Planning regions, Ministry of Transport, and other transport professionals who are daily involved in urban planning, transport planning, traffic organization. Two main topics were addressed in this seminar:
  • Participants were introduced with support instruments for sustainable mobility planning to acquire tools for analyzing existing mobility situation and develop scenarios for possible situations in the future.
  • Professionals from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and the Netherlands shared their expertize in conducting surveys on mobility patterns and data use.
