Since November 2018 till January 2021 TSI was implementing the project “Strengthening Transport and Telecommunication Institute Academic Staff in the Areas of Strategic Specialisation” (No 8.2.2.0/18/A/011).
The project was aimed at strengthening competences of academic staff – professional English skills were improved, as well as cooperation with 13 companies established, where most of the lecturers attended internships for several months.
TSI involved in the study process international level experts in the field of IT, transport, logistics and aviation – 14 foreign lecturers and professors worked in the project, and TSI is planning future cooperation.
A new generation of scientists was invited to cooperate with TSI in all faculties – 8 doctoral students worked in the project, with whom cooperation will be continued.

About 670 thousand euros were invested in the project, of which the support of the European Social Fund amounted to 85% and the share of the budget of the Republic of Latvia – 15%.
