TSI Grants for PhD Students

TSI offers grants for PhD students every year to support their research endeavors. While the grant competition for 2024 has closed, we encourage prospective applicants to prepare for next year’s opportunity and follow the news.

About the Grant Competition

The grants cover the tuition fee for the TSI PhD study program Telematics and Logistics. Additionally, an academic/research position may be offered.

Priority Research Topics for Grant Competition 2024:

  • Application of image processing methods in biometric identification problems in transport and logistics
  • Application of technical systems diagnostics based on hyperspectral computer vision methods in transport
  • Application of heuristic optimization of industrial robot path planning in transport and logistics
  • Application of Easy-to-Teach approaches for robot manipulators in transport and logistics
  • Application of large-scale robotics WAM (Wire Additive Manufacturing) in transport and logistics
  • Application of enhancing emergency response and risk management in transport and logistics
  • Application Procedure

For future applicants, the application process typically includes submitting a CV in Europass format, copies of educational documents, and a motivation letter. Additional documents, such as publications, recommendations from the supervisor of the master’s thesis, or certificates and licenses, can significantly increase the chances of receiving a grant. Applications can be submitted in Latvian or English.
