During the week, since September 17, three Latvian tournaments in classical chess took place at the Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI). On Friday evening, September 24, at a solemn award ceremony, the 2021 Latvian champions in classical chess were determined.
The international champion Rolands Berzins won the Latvian Men’s Championship, while the grandmaster Laura Rogule became the winner of the Latvian Women’s Championship.
For Rolands Berzins it was the first such outcome of his short professional career, but for Laura Rogule – already the eleventh. Klavs Stabulnieks took first place in the Latvian Open Chess Tournament.
