The Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI) recently celebrated its 25th anniversary by organizing a celebration attended by guests from 25 countries, including representatives from ministries, embassies, both partner-universities in Latvia and internationally, as well as business partners and alumni who are now our cooperation partners and supporters of young talent, along with TSI staff.
During the event were received countless congratulations and well wishes both in person and remotely from those who could not join us on this special day. The official part with greetings was opened by the Minister for Transport, Kaspars Briskens, who also presented certificates of appreciation from the Ministry of Transport to the Chairwoman of the Board, professor Irina Yatskiv, and the director of the master’s programme “Computer Engineering and Electronics“, professor Aleksandrs Grakovskis. The strategic partner from UWE Bristol (UK) greeted and highlighted the success of the double degree programmes, and as proof of this excellent cooperation, an honorary award was presented to TSI’s Vice-Rector for Academic & Research, professor Mihails Savrasovs.
A special moment during the celebration was the presentation of an honorary award to the founder of TSI, its first president, State emeritus scientist, professor Igors Kabaskins, who has made an invaluable contribution to the development of the university and education of over 10K students.
Additionally, Aleksandrs Kotlars, director of the TSI bachelor’s programme “Transport and Business Logistics“, was congratulated on receiving his doctoral diploma.
After the official part, the celebration continued with an elegant “L’elegant Picnic” in the TSI backyard, combining networking, fine dining, and celebrations.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the guests who participated in the TSI 25th anniversary celebration. Your presence and support created an unforgettable atmosphere during this special event, and we are proud to share it with everyone who is part of the TSI community.
Thank you for being a part of TSI’s story!
