Continues work on the project 1.1.1.2/VIAA/1/16/112 “Spatiotemporal urban traffic modelling using big data”

In Transport and Telecommunication Institute continues implementation of the project 1.1.1.2/VIAA/1/16/112 «Spatiotemporal urban traffic modelling using big data» (postdoc: Dr.sc.ing. Dmitry Pavlyuk). The project is supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the 1.1.1.2 Post-doctoral Research Aid activity.

As part of the project, the following activities were implemented:

  • Results of the study “Towards ensemble learning of traffic flows’ spatiotemporal structure” are presented at the important transport conference 22nd Euro Working Group on Transportation Meeting (EGWT), September 18-20, 2019, Barcelona, Spain (https://ewgt19.upc.edu/en). The conference, organized by the Statistics and Operations Research Department and the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (BarcelonaTech), brought together leading transport engineers and researchers. The presented results will be published in the open access journal Transportation Research Procedia (Scopus)
  • Research “Random Forest-controlled Sparsity of High-Dimensional Vector Autoregressive Models” is presented at one of the leading European conferences on forecasting – the 6th International conference on Time Series and Forecasting (ITISE), September 25-27, 2019, Granada, Spain (http://itise.ugr.es/).

In addition to the presentations, Dmitry Pavlyuk served as the chair of the section at both conferences – the “Big Data and Machine Learning” section at the EGWT-2019 conference and the “Dimension reduction techniques in Time Series” section at the ITISE-2019 conference.

Current information on the progress and results of the project is available here.
