Project 1.1.1.2/VIAA/1/16/112 «Spatiotemporal urban traffic modelling using big data» (postdoc: Dr.sc.ing. Dmitry Pavlyuk) successfully continues with several important activities:
- A new scientific article entitled “Feature selection and extraction in spatiotemporal traffic forecasting: a systematic literature review” is completed. The article includes analysis of spatiotemporal feature selection methodologies, applied in more than 200 considered studies. Now the article is under review in one of the top methodological transport journals.
- Mobility to the University of Deusto (Bilbao, Spain), research institute DeustoTech. The Mobility group of DeustoTech implements several European research projects in the area of transport modelling (e.g. TIMON – Enhanced real time services for an optimised multimodal mobility relying on cooperative networks and open data), and the main goal of the visit was gathering and analysis of contemporary methodological approaches in this sphere. During the visit collaboration with several leading DeustoTech Mobility researchers was established – prof. Enrique Onieva, Hugo Landaluce, Pedro López and other researchers. In addition, we consider opportunities of collaboration within the scope of the project 1.1.1.2/VIAA/1/16/112.
- Mobility to the University of Thessaly (Volos, Greece), the official partner of my postdoctoral project. During the mobility we work together with leading researchers of TTLog (Traffic, Transportation and Logistics Laboratory) – prof. Eftihia Nathanail, Maria Karatsoli – on analysis of the potential of social media as a data source of transport-related information. Obtained results were formalized to RelStat-2018 conference abstracts and a related paper.
- Participation in the XII World Conference of the Spatial Econometrics Association (SEA), Vienna, June 11-12, 2018. This conference is one of the most important events in the spatial econometrics area. There are several top professor invited as keynote speakers to the conference this year – prof. James LeSage, Ingmar Prucha, Roger Bivand, Giuseppe Arbia and others. I presented my own research entitled “Temporal aggregation effects in spatiotemporal traffic modelling”.
