Last weekend, on 14 and 15 May, Latvian School Chess Olympiad final tournament took place at the Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI) where participated 262 schoolchildren.
The participants had an interesting experience and good mood when they tried their hand in the Dice Chess tournament on 14 May. Later there was also a Swedish chess tournament, which many participants liked because of its interesting rules and fast pace of play.
The major tournament of the weekend was the final of the school chess Olympiad in classical chess in three groups: Grades 1-4, 5-9 and 10-12.
The main sponsor of the Olympiad, TSI, granted special prizes for the 12th grade students.
