Up until April 1st of 2020 foreign students are welcome to apply for Latvian state scholarship for studies in our country in 2020/2021 academic year.
The amount of the Latvian state scholarship for studies is:
- for bachelor’s and master’s students – 500 EUR per month;
- for PhD students – 670 EUR per month.
The scholarship can be used for covering of the tuition fee or for accommodation and meals.
Latvian state offers scholarships to foreign students, researchers and teaching staff – for studies, research and participation in summer schools in Latvian higher education institutions – in accordance with bilateral agreements.
Ilya Jackson, a PhD student at TSI doctoral programme “Telematics and Logistics”, who comes from Kazakhstan and is a Latvian state scholarship holder this year, says: “Scholarship helped me a lot removing the financial constrains that tremendously restrained the potential of my research dedicated to the applications of artificial intelligence in inventory management and logistics. This scholarship has inspired and endowed the unlimited motivation”.
Latvian state scholarship is available to citizens of 41 countries, including Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, as well as a lot of other European countries, and USA, Japan, and China.
