Current position – Associated professor of Transport and Management faculty.

Experience – overall, 12 years of academic experience in TSI (faculty of Transport and Management) and RTU (Engineering economics and management faculty). Specialization in transport economics, decision-making, transport management. Research experience is combined with practical work in passenger terminal (Riga International Coach Terminal) management.

Membership – Chairperson of the Latvian Association ‘Women in Transport”, Member of Presidency of Association of Paneuropean Coach Terminals (APC).

Teaching activity – master studies — Transport Economy.

Publication activity – author/co-author of about 25 scientific publications.

Projects – participated in 2 research projects.

Supervised theses – around 12 Master and more than 10 Bachelor theses.

Research fields/domains – transport economics, passenger transport management, tax policy.

Awards – Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Finance of Latvia, IRU (International Road Transport Union) Award for Top Road Transport Managers, Certificate of Appreciation from Riga City Council for contributions to the development of public transport services, improving quality and introducing innovations.

Previous experience: Over 20 years as a Professor at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mexico City, serving in various leadership roles including Academic Vice-Chancellor, Executive Secretariat of COFAA-IPN, General Coordinator for Staff Development and Educational Innovation, Dean of Higher Education, and Director of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

Membership: Member of IEEE, collaborating with the Robotics and Automation Society. Since 2023, a member of the Latvian Council of Science as an expert in the field of Engineering and Technology — Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information and Communication Technologies, and a member of the Engineering and Technology Expert Commission.

Academic experience: Author of numerous publications in journals such as IEEE Access, Results in Engineering, and MDPI Sensors. Supervised over 55 undergraduate theses, 11 master’s theses, and 7 doctoral dissertations at IPN, the last 2 Doctoral dissertations supervised as TSI staff.

Teaching at post- and graduate level: Courses in Robotics, Engineering Design, and Soft-Computing at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

Participation in projects: Participated in and led various research projects focused on robotics, optimization techniques, biomechanics, and mechanical design.

Research Interests: Robotics, Trajectory Planning, Soft Computing, Mechanical Design Optimization, and Biomechanics.

Awards: Recognized for innovative leadership in academia and research, aiming to advance engineering education and tackle the challenges posed by Industry 4.0.

Dr. Berdymyrat Ovezmyradov has got PhD degree in Policy and Planning Sciences in University of Tsukuba (Japan), has got Master degree in Science, Management of Trade and Technology in Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

Dr Ovezmyradov is a specialist in supply chain management, industrial engineering and transport planning has teaching experience in universities in Turkmenistan and Japan.

Experience – more than 15 years of experience in transport planning and simulation in the Riga municipality, more than 5 years in academic and research as a lecturer in TSI Certified specialist in using EMME software (traffic flow simulation).

Membership – Member of the Latvian Simulation and Modelling Society, Association “WOMEN IN TRANSPORT”

Teaching activity – Geography of Transport Systems (4ECTS, master level), Decision-Making Methodologies (2ECTS, master level), Sustainable Transport Interchanges (6ECTS, master level) and Procurement and reserve logistics (2ECTS, bachelor level).

Publication activity – Author/co-author of more than 17 research publications in journals and conference proceedings (indexed in SCOPUS/WoS).

Supervised theses – more than five master-level thesis supervision with the successful defence
