Improving the efficiency of the logistics firm's activity through the creation of a new warehouse

Designing a new warehouse that meets all company requirements, to improve the management and control of inventories.In the work’s first part are reviewed the theoretical foundations of warehousing, the types of warehousing and the main ways to improve performance.The second part describes the company SIA “Autoparts”, it’s core business, structure and main business processes.The third section analyses the company’s warehouse performance, identifying statistical data and performance gaps.The fourth section deals with the design of the new warehouse and the efficiency of the project.The final part analyses what has been done and draws conclusions based on the results.

Design of the concept of innovative development of the enterprise

The first part is devoted to theoretical considerations about the theory of innovation, the innovation process as a company's continuous innovative development.In the second part, it is described that vegetable cultivation is important in the agricultural sector, the main players in the market, both in the agricultural sector and in the vegetable processing markets, and the economic factors are analyzed.The third part describes the way the company operates, growing and selling vegetables, the idea and establishment of the company. What investments are needed to achieve better productivity and improve product quality.In the fourth part, the company's development plan regarding innovative developments in lyophilization, the development of management decision-making criteria, the description of the proposed company's development scenarios and the compilation, justification of the project budget, the opinion of consumers, are developed. Evaluation of the results obtained as a result of the implementation of the new concept.Practical value - the main task of developing the company's development strategy is to become an example for placing the company in a leading position and increasing productivity.

Maritime shipping in the Baltic Sea: challenges and opportunities for Latvian businesses

Throughout history states located on the coast of the Baltic Sea have been dependent on maritime shipping volume as its very location stipulates marine transportation being a major industry. Latvia has been famous for its marine ports since its active development phase; hence it attracted the attention of the researcher.This research is aimed at highlighting the most influential challenges can industry operators face in the course of their daily practice. The research illustrates enriched data related to the representation of legal norms required for compliance, financial calculations and applications for forecasts and hedging, taxation details in the Baltic region, and subsequent analysis. The research is believed to be of practical value for the maritime industry players and academic community interested in the Latvian maritime shipping business operations and in the Baltic region.
