Improving the performance of logistics company using CRM and other techniques.

This thesis delves into the implementation and impact of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems within the logistics industry, with a detailed case study of Orion Lift. The research encompasses a thorough financial analysis and logistical performance evaluation post-CRM integration. Orion Lift, a local logistics company, faced several operational challenges, including inefficiencies in customer management and high operational costs. By integrating a CRM system, the company aimed to streamline its processes, enhance customer satisfaction, and improve overall business performance.Financial metrics were meticulously calculated before and after the CRM implementation. The results indicate substantial improvements across all metrics, with notable increases in revenue and customer retention rates, and reductions in operational costs and customer acquisition costs. The thesis also discusses the potential financial and operational benefits of CRM systems, supported by comparative analysis with other effective CRM implementations in the logistics sector. Overall, the thesis provides a comprehensive assessment of the benefits of CRM systems in logistics, using Orion Lift as a case study.

The use of a multi-fenestron tail rotor system on a helicopter to improve flight safety

Safety of helicopter tail rotor flights depends largely on the reliability of the tail rotor control system. Tail rotor damage and failure in many cases can lead to catastrophic consequences. Helicopters having a fenestron have certain advantages over helicopters having a conventional tail rotor in terms of safety and reliability, but failure of the fenestron can also lead to catastrophic consequences. In order to improve the safety and reliability of a helicopter that has a tail rotor to compensate the reactive torque of the main rotor, a multi-fenestron control system is proposed in this undergraduate work. Within the framework of this work, conceptual design of the helicopter with multi-fenestration system, which has features, and as a result, an algorithm for designing a helicopter with multi-fenestration system was developed. In this work, also evaluated the level of improvement of safety and reliability of the helicopter with a multi-fenestration system in comparison with the traditional scheme, calculations showed the provision of a high level of reliability for a sufficiently long operating period.

Customer Satisfaction in Information Provision in Bus and Coach terminals

The actuality of this research lies in the significance of changing the mobility traditions toward public transport usage. It requires considering various aspects of the customer experience in public transport services. Transport terminals are an asset to an area as they may act as catalysts for more active use of public transport. However, poorly planned, and sited terminals may generate problems and passengers reduction. The research aims to gain insights into the effectiveness of information visualization in bus and coach terminals and contribute to enhancing the overall passenger experience during journeys. The author is reviewing existing literature on information visualization in transport terminals and studies, or best practices related to improving passenger experiences through effective information design. The author used both quantitative and qualitative methods as sources of data, such as user surveys, expert interviews, and observations for understanding how passengers interact with existing information displays. From analysis, the Riga International Coach terminal has a good information system but misses some visualization tools for information provision. Thus, recommendations were made on how to improve information provision to enhance customer satisfaction.

Securing the future of remote work: Novel cyber threat mitigation strategies

The business environment has been greatly changed by the COVID-19 pandemic, accelerating the shift to remote work and increasing organizations' susceptibility to cyber threats. Conventional security approaches that concentrate on perimeter defense have been ineffective in addressing the challenges of remote work environments. This thesis examines new risk mitigation strategies for addressing cyber threats, focusing on implementation and effectiveness of zero-trust security frameworks. This study uses a mix of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including whitepapers analysis and expert questionnaires, to identify significant cybersecurity threats linked to remote work. It assesses the effectiveness of zero-trust principles and explores cybersecurity professionals' perception and understanding. The results show that adopting a zero-trust framework greatly improves an organization's security posture by implementing stringent access controls and continuous monitoring, reducing risks like breaches, phishing attacks, and other cyber threats. Furthermore, the research emphasizes the difficulties of zero-trust architectures implementation, such as the required cultural shifts within organizations and technical requirements.

The automated business processes integration and their impact on SMEs in Latvia

This thesis investigates the integration of automated business processes within SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) in Latvia's fintech sector, focusing on identifying specific challenges and opportunities. It emphasizes the role of automation in enhancing operational efficiency and enabling SMEs to allocate more resources to strategic and innovative tasks. The research has developed a conceptual framework and provides practical recommendations to assist SMEs in effectively integrating automated processes. The first chapter reviews digital transformation (DT) and business process automation (BPA), including robotic process automation (RPA). The next chapters focus on the survey and interview analysis using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Domain Mapping Matrix (DMM) methods. The fourth chapter presents a business case for integrating BPA in SMEs with examples and discussions on implications. Chapter five introduces a framework for future BPA initiatives and offers practical recommendations for companies integrating BPA.Key findings indicate that while automation offers substantial efficiency and cost-reduction benefits, its practical implementation requires carefully crafted strategies tailored to SMEs' needs.
