Improving the efficiency of SIA Ultramarine Services seafarers' recruitment company

The first part of the thesis compiles theoretical insights on the research topic, including operational efficiency, its evaluation, influencing factors, promotion possibilities, and the efficiency of the personnel selection process. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to the characterization of the studied company, covering the company's main areas of activity and results, as well as describing the main business processes related to personnel selection. In the third section, a practical study is conducted on the efficiency of the company's operations and the sailor selection process. It includes an analysis of the company's performance indicators, a comparison with industry averages, and an analysis of survey results. Based on the research findings, recommendations are provided to the company with the aim of improving its efficiency.

Improving the efficiency of the company's transport department

Aim of the paper: to investigate the possibilities of improving the efficiency of the transport department of a company.Objectives:1. to select and summarise available statistical data on the Latvian transport sector;2. to review the concept of logistics, to identify the main logistics activities, to explain the specifics of the logistics approach to the organisation of transport processes; 3. to carry out a study on the organisational and economic activity of the company "SAVITRA" Ltd;4. collect information on the company's fleet of trucks;5. analyse the efficiency of the technical operation of the company's transport department;6. develop measures to increase the efficiency of the company's transport department.SAVITRA Ltd specialises in freight transport and provides quality services to customers in several European countries.In the first chapter the statistical data on the transport and storage sector were considered; in the second chapter the analysis of the activity of "SAVITRA" Ltd. was carried out; in the third chapter the improvement of the operational efficiency of the transport department of "SAVITRA" Ltd. by the purchase of a new lorry was developed.

Possibilities of logistics performance improvement in transport company

Logistics is the management of the flow of materials, information and resources from their place of origin to the place of their consumption in order to meet the needs of customers. This process shall include the planning, implementation and control of the efficient and economical movement and storage of goods, services and related information from the place of origin to the place of consumption.The main functions of logistics are:Transport: selection and management of vehicles for the movement of goods. This may include road, rail, sea and air transport.

Justification of additional costs and the possibility of downtime in the land transport company

In the literature review of the bachelor's thesis, the types of costs in a company are analyzed and how they could affect the company overall in terms of both costs and functionality. Using transport tariffs, the costs of providing transportation services were calculated and a price was offered to the client. Additional costs and downtime types were analyzed and their impact on the company was assessed. The theoretical analysis of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies was conducted to further apply them to reduce additional costs and downtime.In the second part, the additional costs and downtime factors of the company DSV Latvia and the extent of their impact were described and analyzed.The third part analyzes the application of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies in the company DSV Latvia and how significantly they can help reduce additional costs and downtime.
