Development of Full Composite Wing for Aircraft Embraer EMB-135BJ Legacy 600

Bachelor work „ Development of Composite Wing for Embraer EMB-135 BJ Aircraft”. Author of the paper: Jevgenijs Domanskis. Scientific supervisor: Mg. sc. ing., Adham Ahmed Awad Elsayed Elmenshawy. Paper for obtaining the degree „Aviation Engineering”: 57 pp., 14 img., 20 tabl., 20 ref. AIRPLANE, WINGS, CONSTRUCTION, COMPOSITE MATERIALS, MASS CHARACTERISTICS This paper considers the use of composite materials in the design of the wings of Embraer EMB135BJ Legacy 650. The paper shows that the use of composite materials in the wings design instead of traditional aluminum alloy materials gives a reduction in weight and an increase in the aerodynamic quality of the whole aircraft, which allows to increase the flight range and duration.

Application of machine learning in decision support system

The aim of the work is to improve the accuracy of predicting wait times in an existing queue management system using machine learning. Client-provided data was analyzed, and models were trained using various machine learning algorithms. Performance measures of the models were collected, and the best one was selected. Additionally, software and a database were developed to manage the training process and evaluate the quality of the models. The quality of the software was assessed using industry-standard methodologies and tested.

EXPLORING MODEL SELECTION APPROACHES FOR CUSTOMER CHURN PREDICTION IN WEB APPLICATIONS

Customer retention is vital for business sustainability as acquiring new customers is more expensive than retaining existing ones. Predicting customer churn and estimating customer lifetime value (LTV) allows companies to develop targeted retention strategies. This study proposes a model-based approach for churn prediction and LTV estimation in a web application. The literature review examines statistical methods and machine learning algorithms. Several models, including logistic regression, support vector machine, decision tree and random forest, were evaluated for churn prediction, while LTV estimation used linear regression and random forest regressor. The results show that the random forest model achieved the highest accuracy (95.9%) for churn prediction, while the random forest regressor outperformed linear regression in LTV estimation. A segmentation framework combining churn risk and LTV categorizes customers to refine retention strategies. Key predictors such as tenure, cashback amount and delivery distance influenced churn behavior. The proposed approach balances predictive performance and interpretability. Challenges like model generalization remain, suggesting opportunities for future research on broader datasets, transaction data integration and model transparency.

Failure Analysis and Enhancements of Cessna-172 Nose Landing Gear Fork

Landing gear provides crucial support for aircraft while on ground. It is fastened to the main structural parts of the plane. The nose landing gear transfers all ground stresses to the aircraft structure, while the aircraft is on ground. Standard airplanes have main gears and the nose gear when taxiing on the ground the nose wheel is essential for both landing safely and guiding the plane. Main landing gear is to facilitate the safe touchdown of the aircraft. When combined, the main landing gear and the nose landing gear allow for landing smooth and jerk-free. The whole weight of the aircraft is supported by the undercarriage during taxiing and landing. Using the modelling program, a design and precise geometry of the existing Cessna 172 nose landing gear fork was created as well as for the proposed model of the nose landing gear. Comparison of four different materials for nose landing gear fork structures and evaluate the equivalent stress, strain and deflection was done. There is comparison of the nose landing gear fork structure with existing and proposed model. Compared to all the cases the titanium alloy material receives the lesser and nearer to the deformation of the steel.
