For 17 years, robotics competitions have been a tradition in Latvia, bringing together students and enthusiasts who are passionate about building and programming robots. This year’s season began in November and will run until May 2025, offering participants the chance to compete in nine stages.
The first stage, “Riga Young Technicians Center Robotics Cup 2024,” took place on November 2nd at the Riga Young Technicians Center. The competition featured 60 robots competing in sumo battles and line-following disciplines. The TSI Robotics Club was represented by six Lego robots, achieving remarkable results:
- Three first places: Kirill Afonins, Kirill Kulebyakins, and Roberts Lecītis (Line-following and Lego Sumo, PRO and Junior groups).
- One second place: Sofiya Shulgina (Lego Sumo category).
On November 23, the TSI Robotics Club participated for the first time in the FLL Mini Hackathon in Salaspils, which was another significant event for our team. FLL (FIRST LEGO League) is an international competition held in more than 80 countries, where participants develop a research project and construct a robot designed to complete various tasks. TSI team performed exceptionally well, earning 1st place and taking home the winner’s cup!
